The
Select UK Equity Fund is aimed at defined-benefit and
defined-contribution pension schemes, SIPP investors and high
net-worth individuals. Launched in September 2005, the fund is
designed to provide pension trustees and their members with access
to the higher returns offered by high-alpha investment managers
(investment managers that outperform their benchmarks), but aims to
reduce the risk by diversifying across a range of investment
managers, each demonstrating different investment characteristics.

Select UK Equity Fund invests in UK equities across a carefully chosen
range of leading investment managers. By offering access to a range
of some of the UK's leading managers in a multi-manager fund, the fund
offers exposure to the UK equity market with the opportunity of
increased investment returns at a reduced risk compared with the
single-manager approach.
